Listening walk
Deepening your relationship with land
Listening walk:
Do a listening walk with the land (or connect with the land through sensing or imagining a dialogue). When you arrive, take a moment to greet the land, asking for permission to connect.
Begin with an inquiry to start a dialogue. You may ask an open question such as “What wants to be acknowledged now?” or a specific question you are holding.
As you walk, open up your senses of perception and see what you notice. What are the ways you notice the land tries to relate with you? What are the ways you listen? Respond? Note the thoughts, sensations and experiences of your walk and any new insights or questions that emerged.
2. Exercise In pairs
With a partner (see contact list), take turns sharing the experience from your listening walk. The listener reflects and mirrors back what is heard. How does the story deepen or change? What new insights arise?
