SC1: Exercise 2

Before session 3, we invite you to keep being in practice and witnessing each other. Try the following exercise a triad with people from the training or friends who have training in Systemic Constellation. Use the slack channel or roster to connect with others. If you’d like support, then reach out for coaching.

Exercise

Look for a relationship in which there is a question or tension that would be helpful to explore and better understand. This can be a person, a group of people, an organization or a place for example.

Guiding question

You can start with a question such as:

  • What is here for me to see and acknowledge in this relationship in service for the most benevolent outcome?

Elements

  • A representative for Myself or higher self

  • A representative for this other person, organization or place.

  • A representative for this relationship (the space in between)

  • Possible: A representative for a Resource or Quality you like to call in as support

  • Possible: A representative for the unknown or a message

Practicing

If you are the case giver then the other person(s) will be representing the elements, so that the you can just listen and observe the movements. Witness each other and hold space for what is emerging for both the case giver and the person representing.

You can use paper to represent the elements and map them out on the floor.

As the one representing, step into the various elements and share what you perceive, pick up and sense. Share how you are positioning yourself to the other elements and speak to those relationships to other aspects.

Start with the element that feels most alive or with the object that represents yourself. As you progress, see if there is a movement that wants to happen to feel more balanced or to do so, if there is something that would like to be named, acknowledged and/or expressed to one or several of the other elements.

As the representative, feel free to check in periodically with the case giver, “does this resonate? Does this make sense? Is anything coming up for you?”

The case giver, can ask questions to the representatives to go deeper or inquire about a relationship. For example, “How is your current position? Is there something that would feel more balanced now? Is there anything else that is needed or that wants to be said in order to make that move?”

Tips while practicing:

  • Notice the quality of relationship: We are focusing on the elements and also the relationship between the elements (the space between).

  • Slow down and trust your inner guidance

  • Allow: Invite other ways of knowing to guide you during the process and suspend judgement of what you think you know.

  • While representing:

      • Consciously step into sensing the element

      • Use your Volume Button if necessary

      • Consciously de-roll

Closing the session

After the constellation and as closing the session, ask if there is anything that wants to be said before coming to a close. This could be any last questions or thoughts that are still moving and can be shared so the session can feel complete.

This is not a time to go in an analytical review or analysis over what happened. It’s best to let the energy of the constellation move through the case giver in its own timing.

Journaling and Integration

After the exercise, we invite you to journal on the following questions:

  • What has been confirmed or affirmed?

  • What can I see more clearly?

  • What has surprised me and what does this surprise do to me?

  • Where do I hold back?

  • How am I invited to see a specific situation from another angle?
